HOUSING RECOVERY AFTER TAX CREDIT EXPIRES?

Things are looking encouraging for the Real Estate market in Winchester but will that trend continue after April 30th when the tax credit expires? We really won’t know until the end of the summer, buyers looking to get the tax credit can take until the end of June to close. I see home sales continuing to rise thru the end of June but that’s not hard to predict. What about in the month of September? Will there be enough momentum to keep us going into the fall? According to Lawrence Yun the chief economist of NAR it’s going to depend on jobs. Listen to Yuns podcast below and check out the unemployment graphs for the local area. It’s good to see that we are below the national average. Currently Virginia ranks 9th lowest unemployment in the country.
